J's Barber College

Hour of Operation:       Tuesday-Friday:  9:00 am – 5:00 pm (full time)   

                                    Saturday:  9:00am -3:00pm (full time)      

                       Evening Classes:       Monday-Thursday:  5:00pm-9:00pm (part time)                                                   Saturday:   8:00am-12:00 pm (part-time)


J’s Barber College welcomes all eligible prospective students. All students seeking admission must meet the admission requirements for barbering. Enrollment is continuous, with new classes starting the first Tuesday of every month if space is available.  Applications are accepted at any time during the year. However, a student may not start classes until all documents submitted for completion are processed and the student has received a notice of acceptance. Anyone wishing to apply for enrollment is free to do so. The registration fee is $100 (nonrefundable) and must be paid before the start of class. An application fee of $20.00 is transferable to the next start date so long as it is paid in the same calendar year. The request for information and application should be directed to the school.

Enrollment into J’s Barber College must complete the following:

Step 1
Visit J’s Barber College for verification that you have met the criteria for admission.

Step 2
Set up your appointment with the Admissions Advisor for an interview. We ask that you submit the following documents to be considered for acceptance:

_____ Application for Admissions (include $20.00 with application...non-refundable)

_____ Receipt of Handbook Acknowledgment form, found on the last page of the J's Barber College Handbook. If your are unable to download the handbook to print, contact admissions for a paper copy. 
_____ Birth Certificate (Copy)
_____ Verifiable Social Security Card (Copy)
_____ Valid Current Driver’s License or State I.D.
_____ High School Diploma, GED
_____ Two (2) passport pictures

Step 3
After all documents have been received and reviewed for completeness, you will be contacted of acceptance. You are now ready for enrollment. At this appointment, sign your enrollment agreement, and submit the following fees:

_____Registration Fee                $100.00 (non-refundable)
_____State Board Fee                   $90.00
_____Textbook                            $390.00
_____Student ID                           $10.00

The institution has established working partnerships with the following agencies to assist qualified individuals.  (each agency requires certain criteria to participate, not all students are eligible.)
•           Federal Financial Aid (see page 26 in handbook)
•           Workforce development (LWC)
•           Department of Veteran’s Affairs

•           LOSFA- TOPS Tech Award is a merit-based scholarship program 

Individual Payment:   Students may pay with cash, cashier check, or money order.  In some instances, an individual promissory note for up to 10 months may be granted, interest free.

Barber Instructor (Taught in English)          

Length of Program: 700 hours

Placement Rate Methodology for all Gainful Employment Programs

A Graduate from the graduation cohort is considered eligible for placement unless they meet one of the five exemptions detailed below:

-The graduate is deceased

-The graduate is permanently disabled 

-The graduate is deployed for military service/duty

-The graduate studied under a student visa and is ineligible for employment in the US

-The graduate continued his/her education at an institution under same ownership

J's Barber College includes students in the placement Rate as employed by June 30, following the cohort in the Gainful Employment template
